One Last Train To Catch

from Locust Furnace by Pseudocide

/

about

The banjo in this song was played by Frederick "Jimbo" Carrico back in 2010. He was one of my best friends, and he passed away on February 14, 2015. I stretched another song he played on banjo five times slower to give it almost a choir sound. I wrote the drum beat on FL Studio at 120bpm and added a guitar feedback loop for more rhythm on March 2, 2015.
One night, while we were drinking beer and listening to good music, he went through his journal with me. It was filled with simple drawings, that only he knew the stories of. Many of these stories pertained to the adventures he had when he used to hop trains around the country. I overdubbed the sound of a train to give it a sense of being on that train with him.
This song is my way to remember him and express to people that he will always be that important link between friendship and going that one extra mile with them.
Rest In Peace, brother.
